In October 1944 upon the initiative of Chairman of Executive Committee of Valmiera District Rihards Gredzens, Valmiera District integrated plant was established based on the former A.Taurins’s base of iron works and machine-shop located at Krasta Street (currently T. Udera Street 12). Six employees were repairing different technical machinery.
 
In 1950 a machine-shop was established, and the first attempts were made in commercial manufacturing (belt conveyers, fire extinguisher inventory).
 
Till 1955 a machine-shop of this plant continued to repair agricultural machinery, equipment of the machine-shop and to work on cast iron foundry.
 
In 1955 mass-production was introduced. First OP-3 fire extinguishers were manufactured, 2,500 units per month. 
 
In 1958 designing engineers of the plant modified OP-3 fire extinguishers and created a new model OP-5 (later it was famous as “BOGATIRJ”).
 
In 1959 the plant started to manufacture 20 l fuel cans.
 
On 1 April 1963 Valmiera District integrated plant was divided, as a result Valmiera Metal fabrication plant and Valmiera Furniture factory were established instead of it. On 1 July Valmiera Metal fabrication plant was renamed as Valmiera Fire extinguishing device plant (VuieR).
 
In 1964 the plant manufactured the millionth fire extinguisher (OP-5).
 
In 1965 the plant started to manufacture automatic fire extinguishing devices.
 
In June 1967 the plant manufactured the millionth fuel can (20 l).
 
In 1968 a branch of the plant in Smiltene (“Abuls”) and 2nd shop in Jaunjelgava started their activities as independent companies.
 
In 1970 the plant started to manufacture 20 l fuel cans for export (to Sweden, Finland and Arab countries).
 
In 1975 the fifth million fuel can was manufactured.
 
In 1979 the tenth million fire extinguisher was manufactured. It was a newly designed chemical foam OHVP-10 fire extinguisher.
 
In 1981 the tenth million fuel can was manufactured.
 
In 1982 the plant started to manufacture powder fire extinguishers (PA-10A).
 
In 1995 SC Valpro Corp started privatization of VUIeR. The main operating fields were manufacturing of central heating boilers, fuel cans, fire extinguishers and different hardware. A number of employees accounted for 185. Turnover reached LVL 3,535,032 and profit – LVL 15,915.
 
In 1996 turnover reached LVL 2,087,537, which included LVL 1,361,006 revenue from metal fabricating. 86% of output was exported.
 
In 1997 the plant started to manufacture fire extinguisher shells. (Manufactured output amount had grown from 7,500 units in 1997 to 320,000 units in 2002). Turnover – LVL 3,204,062, export – 76%.
 
In 1998 having succeeded in meeting the assignments stipulated by the state, the plant completed privatization of the company. In a result, it was owned by Latvian-Australian joint venture SC Valpro Corp. In the latter half of the year, significant reconstruction of the company was started, which involved implementation of new technologies and equipment. Turnover – LVL 3,174,088, export – 71%.
 
In 1999 the twentieth million fuel can was manufactured (20 l). In November quality management system certificate ISO 9001-1994 was acquired. Turnover – LVL 2,529,274, export – 75.92%.
 
In 2000 turnover reached LVL 4,443,885, profit – LVL 126,1212, export – 88.44%.
 
In 2001 the plant started to manufacture 5 l fuel cans. Deep Turnover reached LVL 4,073,796, export - 87%.
 
In 2002 SC Valpro Corp. observed 10th anniversary. The plant acquired environment management system certificate EN ISO 14001:1996, occupational health and safety certificate OHSAS 18001:1999 and a new version of certificate ISO 9001-2000. Over 70 variations of fire extinguisher shells were manufactured, whilst 320,000 units were manufactured per year. Turnover reached LVL 6,356,782, export - 94.89%.
 
Year 2005 was the 50th year for manufacturing fire extinguishers. It was a first year the company participated in 'Interschutz 2005' exhibition held in Hanover. In the exhibition, the company represented its newly designed product – oval powder fire extinguisher, in which visitors and experts were interested a lot. In J. Dalins Stadium, a tower designed for firemen competition was built, and afterwards the Baltic States open firemen championship was held. 
 
In 2006 technological processes of gas cylinder maintenance were introduced in newly established production unit.
 
In 2007 gas cylinder maintenance station started its operation. In 1 July Inspekta-Latvija issued certificate and granted a label V307, which gives the rights to inspect and certify 1÷50 l transportable seamless steel gas cylinders.  In September industrial sewage purification plant was put into operation.
 
On 10 May 2008 SC Valpro Corp was reorganized as Valpro Ltd. The company had been recertificated in all 3 areas of integrated quality systems, and Inspekta-Latvija recertificated gas cylinders maintenance process. In the end of October, twenty fifth million can was manufactured.

In 2008 turnover reached EUR 12 million, export – 95%. Number of employees – 337.

On July 13, 2009 “Valpro” Ltd. and “FN Serviss” Ltd. merge their trade and guarantee maintenance service systems.

In 2009 turnover reached EUR 11 million, export – 95%. Number of employees – 283.
 
On January 8, 2010 the plant acquire certificate of Compliance of Garden Spry systems with Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC (PED).
 
On May 8, 2010 it is 10 years since “Valpro” Ltd. is well recognized manufacturer of military purpose metal cans. “Valpro” Ltd. has manufactured over 800 000 pcs. military cans.
